Can the phone system run on a laptop?

Depending on the specifications and the number of phones that will be attached, a laptop may work fine. Take note that most laptops run on Windows XP or Vista which may not be suited to run 24×7. We’ve tested it on a Windows XP running on an IBM R52 laptop with 2GB RAM and it didn’t pose any problems.
